Sanctuary House of Martyrdom of Santa Maria Goretti
The sanctuary was built in the ancient farmhouse owned by the Gori Mazzoleni counts, occupied by the family of Santa Maria Goretti after moving to the Agro Pontino. The building, dating back to the 18th century, is located in Ferriere di Conca (now Borgo Le Ferriere), the extreme north-western offshoot of the municipality of Latina on the border with Nettuno. Here the twelve-year-old Maria Goretti suffered martyrdom on 5 July 1902 at the hands of her roommate Alessandro Serenelli. The farmhouse, commonly called "Cascina antica", was purchased together with the adjacent building and the adjoining land in 1951 by the Passionist Congregation. Reduced to terrible conditions, it was restored in 1952 thanks to the generosity of Cardinal Francis Spellman, archbishop of New York, and others. On the occasion of the pastoral visit of Pope Saint John Paul II, which took place on 29 September 1991, the sanctuary was again subjected to restoration.

American Cemetery
The current cemetery was built by the American Battle Monuments Commission in 1956 on the territory of the city of Nettuno (in Piazzale Kennedy), in the area where the temporary landing head cemetery was positioned since the first days of the Anzio landing.
The site covers a size of 311,542 m². At the entrance there is a small lake island with cypress trees. Immediately behind, a large avenue opens up lined with 7,861 white headstones, corresponding to all the deceased Americans (including Red Cross nurses) in different contexts: in Operation Shingle; in the one which materialized with the landing in Sicily which began on 10 July 1943; in the landing in Salerno, which took place in the Campania area of the city on 9 September 1943. At the back there is a large memorial, consisting of a chapel, a peristyle and a room with maps illustrating the operations. Prominent in the peristyle stands the "Brothers in Arms" monument, a sculpture symbolizing the American soldier and sailor, standing side by side, each with an arm around the other's shoulders. In the white marble walls of the chapel, there are the names of the 3,095 missing.
The remains of those who could not be identified are collected in 490 tombs.
